A general theme in 2016 and the beginning of 2017 has been trying to find myself. Graduating from college, moving back home, and being on the constant job hunt has been mentally draining and exhausting. As of now I have not found a full time position that I have hoped for. I know I am not alone in my job search, but sometimes it can feel as if I am running in the wrong direction with no place to turn. Recently I have been trying to invest in my own happiness. What I mean by that is focusing on myself and the things I can control in my life. Even though I have not ended up at all where I expected I can control what I do with the cards I’ve been dealt.
I’ve started doing such things as starting this blog, and my freelance graphic design project Wonderstruck Design and I’ve been using my Instagram more purposefully to get the results I would like. This along with doing things like planning outfits, redoing my office space, and getting back into a regular workout routine are all things I can control in my life. So far it’s working out well for me and I’ve been quite productive and much happier for the first time in a while. I think this will workout well, even if I don’t end up with a job I am looking for I think I am making a step in the right direction and I will start to begin to be happy.
I recommend doing this if you find yourself being a lost 20-something like myself. It will help things, I promise
